Your garment’s own care label always takes priority over the general guidance below — where the two differ, follow the label.
General care
What’s the first thing I should check?
Always check the care label sewn into your garment before cleaning it — it’s specific to that piece’s exact fabric and construction, and takes priority over any general guidance here.
Silk
Our silk pieces are generally intended for dry cleaning only — for example, our silk satin scarf is labelled “dry clean” specifically. Always check the label on your own piece, as care can vary between styles.
Delicate or structured garments
For delicate fabrics, embellished pieces, and structured garments (such as tailored jackets or heavily beaded designs), we recommend professional cleaning rather than washing at home, where appropriate for that piece.
Storage
Store garments carefully — ideally on a suitable hanger or folded with tissue for structured pieces — away from direct sunlight, which can fade or weaken fabric over time.
Fragrance and fabric
Avoid applying perfume directly onto fabric, as it can mark or discolour certain materials.
What should I do if I am unsure about cleaning an item?
If in doubt, we recommend professional cleaning over washing at home. You’re also welcome to contact us with any questions about a specific piece.
